The home, prior to the renovation, was in an alarming state of disrepair. The roof leaked profusely, the doors and frames were either destroyed or missing, and the entire structure was on the verge of collapse due to a deteriorated foundation and numerous other issues. The deplorable conditions of the house not only posed a safety hazard but also significantly impacted the health and well-being of the widow. Consequently, the two widows and their children were forced to leave the home and seek temporary shelter with others, amplifying the hardships they already faced.

A comprehensive renovation plan was initiated, encompassing structural repairs, roof replacement, door and frame installations, and various other improvements to ensure the home’s habitability. On the auspicious day of May 22nd, 2021, the commissioning and handing over of the fully renovated home took place in Umunama, Ezinihitte Local Government Area of Imo State. The event was graced by esteemed elders of the community, as well as friends and loved ones who gathered to witness the transformation and celebrate the positive impact brought about by NTF’s intervention. The joy and gratitude expressed by the widow and her family were tangible, reflecting the profound difference that the renovated home would make in their lives.
