The Nnaedozie Thomas Foundation conducted a free medical outreach in Giring, Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, as part of its commitment to promoting preventive healthcare and improving public awareness of common health conditions.
The outreach focused on high blood pressure and blood sugar awareness, providing residents with free screening, testing, and basic health education. Community members were given the opportunity to check their blood pressure and blood sugar levels while receiving guidance on the importance of regular medical examinations and healthy lifestyle choices.
Health personnel at the event educated participants on the risks associated with hypertension and abnormal blood sugar levels, particularly when such conditions remain undetected or untreated. Residents were encouraged to monitor their health regularly, maintain balanced diets, engage in physical activity, reduce excessive salt and sugar consumption, and seek professional medical attention whenever abnormal results are detected.
The programme also highlighted the importance of early detection in preventing serious complications linked to hypertension and diabetes, including heart disease, stroke, kidney problems, and other long-term health challenges.
Through the medical outreach, the Nnaedozie Thomas Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to supporting vulnerable communities and expanding access to basic healthcare services.
The Foundation described the initiative as part of its broader humanitarian mission to promote healthier communities through education, awareness, and preventive medical services.
Residents of Giring expressed appreciation for the free healthcare intervention, describing the programme as an important opportunity to better understand their health status and learn practical steps for maintaining healthier lives.
